HubForSport/League suspensions and fines

League suspensions and fines, from charge to last game served.

Launching January 2027 We're onboarding our first clubs and leagues now.

Discipline usually lives in emails, a spreadsheet and somebody's memory. HubForSport keeps the charge, the club's reply, the decision, the fine and any player suspension in one record, counts the games for you, and stops a suspended player being picked.

From referee report to served ban

HubForSport treats discipline as four separate tools used in order. Nothing links them automatically, so the league decides what happens at every step.

The referee reports

The electronic match card lists cautions, dismissals and misconduct with the offence code. It is due by the Tuesday after the fixture.

The league reads the cards

Every submitted card appears in one list. A Poor or Very Poor respect mark emails the discipline secretary straight away.

The league charges a club or team

A charge names the club, whether it targets the whole club or one team, the rule and the dates. The club has seven days to reply.

The club replies, the league decides

The club can accept, accept and ask for a hearing, deny, or deny and ask for a hearing. The league then records a fine or dismisses the charge.

A player is suspended

The league records the ban. HubForSport counts the games from the imported fixtures and blocks selection while the ban runs.

The ban is served and ticked off

When the count is reached the ban waits for the league's confirmation. The team manager and discipline secretary are told when it lifts.

Charges · Replies · Fines

Charges and fines, followed through to payment

A charge starts as awaiting reply with no fine amount at all. An amount exists only once the league records a decision.

  • A charge can target a whole club or one of its teams
  • If the club does not reply in seven days the charge moves to no reply, and the league can still decide
  • The decision is a fine with a grace period to pay, or a dismissal. Points deductions and team suspensions are recorded on the charge, and the league applies them to its table itself
  • The club pays from its own Charges page, or the saved card is charged after the grace period. Card payments are processed by Stripe, which pays the league directly

Player suspensions

Bans that count themselves

Upload the league's suspensions spreadsheet or add a ban by hand. HubForSport matches the team and player, counts the games and blocks the player on the matchday squad.

  • Import .xlsx, .csv, .tsv or .txt, or paste the rows. Nothing is saved until you confirm, and a repeat import never duplicates a ban
  • Players are matched by their FAN where the sheet gives one, otherwise by name on the team. A team that is not on HubForSport yet is still recorded and the ban links up later
  • Each ban is misconduct or standard, and covers playing only, playing and refereeing, all football, or a ground ban that is recorded and emailed only
  • A matches ban counts the team's imported fixtures from the start date. Untick a postponed game or add a cup tie by hand and the count updates. A days ban counts down the days

Served bans

You confirm the lift, clubs see where they stand

The league decides at every step. HubForSport only does the counting and the blocking.

You tick off the ban

When the count is reached the ban waits for your confirmation, so you can first remove walkovers and abandoned games. Switch tick-off off if you prefer bans to lift themselves.

Clubs are told

The team manager and discipline secretary are emailed when a ban starts and when it lifts. A suspended player is badged on the squad list and greyed out on the matchday squad.

Clubs can ask

A We think this is served button lets a club tell the league it believes a ban is over. The player stays unavailable until the league decides.

Questions we are asked

Can we import our existing suspensions spreadsheet?

Yes. Upload the file or paste the rows, heading row included. HubForSport reads the player, team, number of games or days, and start date, shows a preview with any rows it cannot read, and saves only when you confirm.

What if the player or team is not on HubForSport yet?

The suspension is still recorded. If the team is not on the platform, the ban is held without a player and links itself up when the team joins or is mapped. If the team is there but the player is not, the player is added to the team from the list, flagged as loaded by the league.

Does it stop a suspended player being picked?

Yes, from the ban's start date. A suspended player cannot be set as Starting XI or substitute, and saving a squad moves anyone who slipped through to Not Selected. A ground ban is recorded and emailed only.

Is anything decided automatically?

Only the counting and the blocking. The league decides whether to charge, what the decision is, when a ban is served and whether a club's claim that a ban is over is right.

Do suspensions need Full-Time import switched on?

No. If your league does not import fixtures, you can still record suspensions and add the games by hand.

Who is told when a ban starts or ends?

The team's manager or managers and the discipline secretary. If a team has no assigned manager, the club's club managers are emailed instead.
