HubForSport/Referee match cards and the Respect table

Referee match cards, and a Respect table the whole league can trust.

Launching January 2027 We're onboarding our first clubs and leagues now.

When referees report on a spreadsheet and marks are added up by hand, the Respect table is always late and rarely checked. HubForSport has the referee complete the card online, and builds the Respect table for every division from those same cards.

A card the referee can finish on a phone

It follows a league's existing match card section by section, in the same order and wording, so referees recognise it. Division, kick-off, goals and ground come from the match.

  • Goals at 90 minutes and penalties, assistant referee marks, kick-off times and a matchday checklist with a Yes or No for each team
  • Pitch markings, showers and changing rooms marked from 1 to 5, and four respect marks per team: supporters, manager or coach, players and captain
  • Cautions, dismissals and reports of misconduct with the full name, club and offence code, and a tick to confirm all have been reported
  • Save a draft and come back. Submitting with something missing sends nothing: a box lists every item still to do and the page jumps to the first. A Poor or Very Poor respect mark makes the note required and emails the discipline secretary

Respect

A table for every division, built from the same cards

The league reads every submitted card in one list, with poor marks flagged, and opens any game to see the full detail. The marks are then added up into a table for each division.

  • Top twelve and worst respect at the top, then one table per division. Teams under the league's cutoff carry a red badge. The cutoff starts at 4 and can be any value from 1 to 5
  • Each row shows games, spectators, manager and players averages, captains and club assistant referee averages. From three games a netted-down figure drops the highest and lowest game
  • Click a team to see every game behind the number. Earlier weeks recorded on the league's General Marking Form can be loaded so a new season does not start from a blank table
  • Download a CSV, print for the committee, or email the Respect report to team managers and club secretaries after a confirmation that lists who will receive it

Allocation

Choosing the right referee for each fixture

Referees set their own availability on a calendar. The league sees a ranked shortlist for each fixture, scored on distance to the ground, experience, a fair share of appointments and availability.

  • Auto-fill proposes a referee for open fixtures at once, as pending. Nothing is final, and the referee is not emailed, until the league confirms
  • A blank day is treated as neutral, not unavailable, so referees are encouraged to mark days off
  • Keep venue addresses and postcodes filled in, because a ground with no usable postcode scores as unknown on distance
  • No accept or decline step for the referee: if someone needs swapping out, the league re-allocates

Marking the referee

The managers mark the referee as well

After a match the team manager marks the referee on three scales. The league sees every mark and who gave it.

Three scales

Control out of 40, management out of 30 and overall out of 30. A mark of 60 or below always carries a comment of at least 50 characters.

Bands from the FA guide

86 to 100 Excellent, 76 to 85 Good, 61 to 75 Satisfactory and 60 or below Below standard, following the FA Guide to Marking.

By referee, month and club

See each referee's average, netted-down average, lowest and highest, marks by month, and the average each club gave. Download or print.

Questions we are asked

Does the card match our own match card?

It was built to follow an existing league match card section by section. If your league's card differs, get in touch and we can talk through what would need to change.

Who sees the respect marks?

The league sees every card and the Respect table. Each referee sees only their own cards. The league chooses whether to email the Respect report to team managers and club secretaries, and sees who will receive it before sending.

Can we change the cutoff for the worst respect table?

Yes. It starts at 4 and the league can set any value from 1 to 5, including 4.5. The red badge and the worst respect table use the new figure straight away.

Is the referee told the moment they are allocated?

Only when the league confirms the appointment. Auto-filled picks stay pending and the referee is not emailed until they are confirmed.

Can referees use it on a phone?

Yes. The card, availability calendar and match list work on a phone browser.
